Red Devils track Riordan
By Peter ORourke - Created on 12 Apr 2007
Skysports.com understand Kaiserslautern are tracking Celtic's Derek Riordan.
The young forward has endured an indifferent debut season at Parkhead after arriving from Hibernian last summer.
Riordan has struggled to hold down a place in Gordon Strachan's side and the 24-year-old is thought to be frustrated with his lack of opportunities and failure to play in his preferred position of striker at Parkhead.
The news has alerted Kaiserslautern who have been keeping tabs on Riordan since he was at Hibernian.
Red Devils boss Wolfgang Wolf is believed to be a big fan of Riordan and is keen to bring him to Germany.
Kaiserslautern are fighting to try and win promotion back to Die Bundesliga and they hope the lure of regular action and the chance to play in attack could persuade Riordan to possibly make the move.
