If one of the other two top trainer canidates Brunno or Franco had be hired, guess what tactical central mid field concept they favor and would have installed. The very same tactical central mid field concept Kurz is trying to install. Brunno and Franco would have run into same problems that Kurz has run into. Watched HSV play Saturday and Sunday Brunno used in central mid field no 6er but rather two defensive/offensive (8er) central mid field players. I think that this is the same type of tactical central mid field concept which Kurz is trying to install. Oh by the way I am very sure that SK asked Kurz what tactical concept he planned to use or do people think Kurz was hired on his good looks.

The German National team has been playing what I would call the two 8er tactical concept with no 6er in central mid field by using Ballack and Frings or Hitzelberger. Kurz is trying to develop the same tactical concept of playing two 8er in central mid field with no 6er. If you do not have an 8er (strong on both defense and offense), then you either buy two or three 8er or create two or three 8er. The reason Mandjeck could become an excellent 8er is because the VFB has been playing with the 8er concept for several seasons. Kurz is trying covert our 6er (Bilek and Schulz) into two 8er. Mandjeck has had a year experience in playing the two 8er tactical concept. Bilek and Schulz are still learning the tactical concept and it is going to take time for them to learn how to play the concept.

Ja, das plant Kurz. Aber ich habe da Bedenken mit unserem Spielermaterial, ob das gespielt werden kann.

We will see and hope for the best. However, the players available is in our price class does not leave K and K much choice. I think the experiment is worth a try and we can see just how good or bad Kurz is as a trainer. He may surprise everyone with trainer skills. I think K and K came up this tactic vice just being an idea from Kurz. It could be a part of SK's concept for the future. These are all the players signed and retained by SK.

Is this not just what Kurz is trying to do or do you not feel these defensive players (6er) can be converted into creative offensive mid fielders? If these players can also learn to be creative offensive players, then they are no longer 6ers but all arounders. As you indicated, if Kurz can produce two creative all arounders in central mid field, then the team has a number of flexable tactics that can be used.

Seine Kreativen Momente, zumindest die wenigen die du ansprechen willst, reichen aber nicht um beim 1.FCK etwas positives zu bewirken außer dass er sich den Unmut, und den zu recht, des FCK Anhangs zuzieht.

My point is the FCK fans built up an expectation last summer that Anel would all by himself as superman take the FCK into the 1st league and as long as the team was winning early in season all was well. Some fans became disappointed that he did not meet their expectation and realized that he was just a normal player. I am not an Anel fan but rather an FCK fan. As a fan I determine the tactic a trainer is using and then judge whether or not a player did his job the tactic called for. For example last season Josh was suppose to be playing in the left mid feild position but 70 percent of the time played on the offensive end either center right or the right side leaving no one playing in left mid field which meant he was not properly playing his position.

Remember the bad boy of season 07/08 Erik and then Erik everyones hero in season 08/09. Fans have to blame someone for their disappointment. I blame M.S. for changing his tactic to kick and pray at mid season. Fans sometimes forget that the trainer decides the tactic and players have to play the selected tactic whether thay like it or not, if they want to play.

If K and K felt Anel could not contribute to the team, he would be on his way to another club. Anel may well fit into the Liverpool tactic (two all arounders in central mid field), if that is what Kurz plans to play. He has shown that he is good defender and has had creative moments in offensive mid field.

Could some of the fans here be reacting out of fear???? They are afraid that we do not have the right players. They are afraid we do not have the right trainer. They are afraid the new tactic the trainer wants to use will not work (of course it could be an excellent tactic).

The players are almost the same team we had last season and showed me that the team had both desire and potential. The new players should help to improve the overall quality of the team.

The trainer is young with some new fresh ideas. He must be a good teacher of young players or else 3 young players would not been able to move from his former club into the first league over the last year.

I have not seen this years team in action but it sounds like the trainer wants to use what I will call the Liverpool tactic. On paper the Liverpool game lineup looks like they are going to be playing a very defensive game by starting two top defensive mid field players. However, those two players have also learned to be just offensively creative as any other offensive creative player playing in an offensive mid field position. Does the tactic have to be learned? Of course and it will take time for our team to learn it.

I suggest that everyone should just relax and let the people who are getting paid to do the job do it. Oh by the way this sounds like pre season last summer when some users thought the FCK sky was falling in and it did not.

    1. I agree we could play either a 4-4-2 or 4-1-4-1. I feel that we have the players with the technical skill to play a quick short pass combination offensive game at home. We also have the scoring punch to play either system. I saw indications were there early last season that such a game would be very effective at home. I honestly think that the change of tactic by M.S. at game 16 was one of the big reasons M.S. lost his job.

    2. Last season we played way to offensively on the road early in season and then later in the season way to defensively. I would use a 4-2-3-1 on the road. I think five midfield players would give a good mix of defense and offense.

P.S. Users can respond to postings in German.

    1. 4-4-2 or 4-1-4-1 are playing systems and can be impacted by type of players available and whether the players playing the system are capable of scoring. For example during the most recent U-21 games the German team played a 4-4-2 with four defenders and 6 midfield players and was effective. The key is the tactic you use and whether you play the system offensively or defensively. Last season we played the 4-4-2 offensively using a good combination short pass game to create 20 to 30 scoring chances a game until game 15. Between game 16 and 30 we played a 4-4-2 with a defensive kick long and pray we score tactic with less then ten scoring chances a game. What made the team strong those 14 games was that we had a good short passing game and we had 10 different players scoring vice just our two strikers scoring because 8 players involved in the offense.

    2. I expect the trainer will install the 4-4-2 using a short pass combination tactic and have the team play very offensively at home attempting to control both ball and the other team and play away games more defensively. I feel that we have the potential scorers as well the players who can potentially play a good short pass combination game effectively.

    1. Luis will consider it to be an honor to get a starting position on team USA for the Gold Cup. We Americans feel it is an honor to be a rep of our Nation and is a goal of anyone who plays on a sports team in the USA.

    2. The Gold Cup is a major football event for our part of world and it similar to the European and African national playoffs. The Gold Cup has been played every two years since 1991. The reason the USA played in the just completed ConFed Cup in South Africa was that they had won the Gold Cup in 2007.

    3. The 2007 Gold Cup had a crowd average of 50,000 per game and millions watching games on TV. There will be scouts from every European major team watching matches this year as been the case in the past.

    4. If Luis plays well which I think he will. He is going to draw signing offers from other European clubs which will be good for Luis and bad for FCK.
